What is Market Cap?
Also known as: marketcap, mcap, market capitalization
The total value of a token’s circulating supply: price multiplied by the number of tokens in circulation.
Market capitalization is price × circulating supply. It is the headline number traders use to compare tokens and gauge "how much room is left to grow." A token at a $1M market cap is generally seen as earlier (and riskier) than one at $100M.
Fully diluted valuation (FDV) uses total supply instead of circulating supply, which matters when large allocations are still locked — a low market cap with a huge FDV warns of future sell pressure as tokens unlock.
For memecoins, market cap is psychological as much as mathematical: round-number milestones ($1M, $10M, $100M) become community rallying points.
