What is Narrative?
Also known as: meta, lore
The story or theme a memecoin attaches itself to — the reason people feel something and want to belong.
A narrative is the story that gives a memecoin meaning beyond a ticker. It can be a cultural moment (an election, a viral clip), an ongoing theme ("AI agents," "dog coins," "politifi"), or original lore the community builds over time. The narrative answers "why this coin, why now?"
Narratives also describe market-wide "metas" — clusters of tokens riding the same theme. Launching into a hot meta gives a token tailwind; launching against a dead meta is an uphill battle.
The strongest memecoins evolve their narrative into a living mythology — recurring characters, in-jokes, and rituals that deepen community attachment.
